Clint Johnstone
Clint Johnstone, a proud member of Pelican Lake First Nation, has been a mainstay with JCL since October, 2020, working on several large projects. Clint's journey into the skilled trades began at a young age when he realized that a career confined to a desk was not for him. Driven by a desire to find a career where he could connect with the outdoors, Clint found his calling in the construction industry and embarked on a path as a tradesperson.
Clint acknowledges the support and mentorship he’s received from JCL, which has provided him with opportunities to gain experience and expand his skills, including offering diverse machine hours on various projects. As a result, Clint has become a versatile operator who can confidently operate any machine he encounters. Sitting in the seat of a machine brings him comfort in knowing that it's a position where he can continue to grow and thrive throughout an entire career. These valuable skills have made Clint in high-demand in JCL, where he’s continuously engaged from project to project.
Clint's future goals and aspirations are deeply rooted in his desire to make a positive impact in his home community of Pelican Lake First Nation. He envisions a future where he can serve as a tradesperson mentor, sharing his knowledge and experience with individuals from his community. Clint understands the importance of advancing the growth and skills of people in Pelican Lake First Nation, and by bringing his expertise back to his community, he hopes to be in a position to empower others to pursue careers in the skilled trades.
