Kaitlin Jackson
Kaitlin Jackson is a first-year Heavy Duty Technician (HDT) apprentice with a passion for learning and a drive to succeed. After spending six years at home raising her children and sending her youngest to school full time, she was ready for a change in career and decided to enroll in the pre-apprenticeship program for Heavy Equipment Technicians with Women Building Futures. Kaitlin's previous experience in the construction industry as an administrator and project coordinator, along with her love of learning, made the program a perfect fit.
As a first-year apprentice, Kaitlin is thrilled to be learning new skills and working with a variety of equipment. She appreciates the hands-on experience that the trades offer and looks forward to mastering the practical skills that will enable her to pursue a long-term career. She is excited about the opportunities that the HDT trade provides and hopes to inspire other women to pursue careers in the trades.
Kaitlin's dedication and passion have not gone unnoticed by her supervisor, Brad Liebrecht. He is impressed with her positive attitude, willingness to learn, and work ethic. As a mentor, he sees the value that having women in the trades brings to the industry, including new perspectives, creativity, and problem-solving skills. Brad is excited to see Kaitlin thrive in her new career and believes that she has a bright future ahead.
